ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE
• Above average performance of our students on the standardized Terra Nova tests.
• High acceptance rate of our students at private high schools and academies.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
• RELIGION - Spiritual development is achieved through daily instruction and integration of all aspects of school programs.
• MATHEMATICS – Taught using a strong hands-on approach with the gradual development of abstract thinking.
• LANGUAGE ARTS – Designed to inspire a love of reading with instruction emphasizing verbal and written skills.
• SCIENCE - Instruction is experiential and occurs in all grades. The upper grade curriculum focuses on earth sciences (Grade 6), life sciences and human biology (Grade 7), and physics and environmental science (Grade 8).
• TECHNOLOGY – Grades K to 8 receive weekly instruction and is integrated into all aspects of the curriculum. Smartboards are located in all classrooms.
•FINE ARTS - Allows students to express themselves and appreciate their talents. Our curriculum aligns with the National Standards for Music and Art.

The Norristown Elks held a contest in the fall for students in grades 5 through 8  to submit  essays on the topic: “Why I am Proud to Pledge Allegiance to the Flag.” 
We  recently received the good news that STA had five winners!  For the second year in a row, our grade 5 contestants took 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the contest!
